Wilson Cellular Antenna Adapter Cradle 301146

Antenna Adapter Cradle 301146If you need better cellular reception in your car but your phone does not have an external antenna port, this cradle will work for you.  The cradle arms are adjustable, allowing any phone to fit securely in the cradle.

The cradle connects to a 3 watt booster, then to an outdoor antenna, dramatically increasing the reception to your phone.  The phone does need to be in the cradle for the phone to receive the increased signal.

The kit comes with the adapter cradle, a pedestal windshield mount, air vent mount, adhesive mount and screw mount.  It also comes with a coaxial cable RG 174 with an FME Female connector on the end.

The frequency is 824-960 Mhz/1700-2100 MHz and the impedance 50 ohms.

This is a great solution for a phone without an external antenna option if you need a way to hook up your phone to a 3 watt booster.  It is also the perfect solution if you have more than one phone that you may need to use with a 3 watt booster.

Arc Freedom Portable Antenna

Arc Freedom AntennaThe Arc Freedom Portable Antenna is small, at 6” tall and 3” wide, and an easy to use antenna that help improve low antenna signal.  The antenna comes with either a TNC or a mini-UHF connection on the end of the 3 foot cable that is included with the antenna.  It also has a suction cup and a desk mount.   This antenna also requires an antenna adapter specific to your cell phone, which is purchased separately from the antenna.  It also requires at least one bar of service to improve the reception.

This is a very useful tool, with the drawbacks of it can only be used with phones that have:

a)an antenna port in the phone and

b)a antenna adapter is made for that phone and

c)you must have at least one bar of service.

If you meet this criteria, then this is the product for you.

Car Kits

Since bluetooth has become standard on most phones, car kits have dropped in popularity.  It used to be all the OEM’s such as Nokia, Motorola, and Samsung had a full intall car kit with antenna connector for almost every phone they made.  These days, the OEM’s make few if any full intall car kits.  So are car kits a thing of the past.  Yes and no.  There are still car kits available for some phones like Sprint Nextel and some Blackberry phones.  These are made by aftermarket manufacturers but are good quality and work great.  The one aspect of the car kit that is still popular though is the antenna boost the kit would give to the signal strength.  While you may not be able to find a full install car kit for your phone, if you need a boost to your signal, there are plenty of signal amplifier options available.  Some require a connection to the phone, others dont.
